The most Vrys will ever reveal about his background is that he was a Viera from Golmorre who spent time in Rabanastre prior to the Empire's arrival. After that, he traveled the land and picked up the art of the Red Mage somewhere along the way, teaching others to keep the art alive and helping people as he went.This is somewhat true. He did come from Golmorre and he did live in Rabanastre, but the full picture is a great deal more grim than Vrys would ever care to let on. In truth, he fled the battle against the Empire, leaving his people and friends behind ― presumably to die. He started over every time he entered a new city, with a new name, a slightly changed appearance, and a new backstory. Each time he would grow uneasy with the questions about who he was and would flee, yet again.Stepping off the boat in Limsa Lominsa, he chose the name "Vrys Ahli" and a new chapter of his life began ― one that somehow, wouldn't end the same as all those before it. For better and for worse, he's come to be recognized by that name and his flashy Red Magic, primarily as an adventurer capable of very difficult feats, but also as an informant and coordinator amongst other wandering adventurers and mercenaries alike. So even if he wanted to run once more... it would be far harder to do so now.Maybe he doesn't really mind that.

  • adventurer.  Vrys is both an adventurer himself and works closely with them. He has a pretty wide network of connections and can put people in touch with one another ― think of him as the lore-friendly equivalent of the duty finder, finding people to fill out role spots to help out with dungeons.

  • red mage.  Given the sword he always carries at his hip, Vrys is obviously a Red Mage. If you're curious about the magic, he'd be glad to give a demonstration ― or even teach you, should you truly wish to learn.

  • magical curiosity.  Vrys is fascinated by all things magic ― be that different magical arts, cursed items, or even voidsent. If he notices something off about you, he'll be sure to ask!

  • entertainment.  He can often be found at the local tavern, though Vrys is not likely to actually get drunk. He does enjoy a good drink and good company, as well as singers and dancers and the like. One night stands are a common occurrence with him, but anything more than that will take some work!

  • what i'm looking for.  I have a preference for focusing on adventures or simple (pve) combat rather than slice of life. Starting conversations and get-to-know-yous are expected, of course, but I like having more of a focus on plot and/or character development!

  • romance.  Vrys is pan with a slight preference for men, and he tends to be very comfortable in his sexuality. He likes to have flings more than relationships, but I would love to explore this more. I'd prefer to discuss this before we dive right in! If you'd like to ship with Vrys, let me know and we can see how character development and the like goes! Please note that I will not play out random erp, but I'm fine using it as a backdrop for a scene, etc.

  • expectations and experience.  I come from forums/journal rp (if you're familiar with those) and have a lot of experience over the years with paragraph format. There's probably going to be some bumps in the road as I get used to mmo rp, so please feel free to let me know if I'm doing something odd!
